A calendar of planned events is on display in the Activity Centre.

Hire details:-

The room is for the use of all residents for meetings, social events, film shows, lectures, demonstrations etc., and available seven days a week.

Events arranged directly by a resident of Whinfell Court for the benefit of other residents do not incur any room hire charges.  Such events include lunches, film shows, bridge, Yoga to name but a few.  In the case of classes a small fee will be charged per person, on each visit, to cover the charge levied by the Tutor or Group Leader for his or her time in attending.

Social events will be self funding in the usual manner by residents attending.

Any resident can hire the Activity Centre for their own personal party or event. There is no fee but details of the day and time must be booked ahead through Barbara Robertshaw:

e-mail: ba_robertshaw@yahoo.co.uk  20 Whinfell Court

Barbara will supply a form for you to complete. In Barbara’s absence (holidays etc) a contact name and phone number will be posted in the centre.

At all private events a resident must be in attendance for the duration.

Non-residents cannot hire the Activity Centre otherwise we hit insurance problems.

Anyone holding an event or party will be expected to leave the room and kitchenette completely clean and tidy.  The vacuum cleaner will be in the corner of the foyer and is available for use.  If this rule is not adhered to and we have to get a cleaning company to do the work, the cost will be borne by the person who hired the room.

Before leaving the building please ensure that tables and chairs are stacked away (unless otherwise advised), windows are closed, the water boiler is emptied and switched off, all lights are switched off and the outside door closed.

The heating system is set on automatic timers and should not be altered.
